Basic Reseach - PPAR-delta senses and orchestrates clearance of apoptotic cells to promote tolerance.

Basic Research being done at Stanford University has identified a possible receptor, PPAR-delta, potentially involved in a 'Lupus like' condition in mice. Deletion of the gene mice leads to a Lupus like state in mice. Further study must be done to see if this receptor or gene may be involved in SLE in humans.
